Alwyn Richards - Senior Engineer/ Proprietor
After gaining an HNC in the early '70's and working as a design draughtsman in both heavy & precision engineering companies, Alwyn started his scaffolding related career when he joined Deborah Services as the Group's first Design Engineer in 1973.
In the following decades Alwyn gained extensive experience throughout the Industry, leaving Deborah as Head of the Design Department to take up the position of Technical Director at Macspan Ltd (a Scottish-based scaffolding contractor), then Group Technical Director of the Whitlam Group of Companies.
During his period at Whitlam's he was responsible for all scaffolding design required for the Morecambe Bay Hook-up & Commissioning (at the time, the largest offshore scaffolding contract ever awarded in UK waters).
Alwyn left the Whitlam Group in '86, to become one of the founding Partners in Richmore Engineering Services, a design & draughting service specialising in Scaffolding, Pressure Vessels & Mining Equipment, before forming Temporary Works Design in 1998.
Ben Beaumont - Temporary Works Design Engineer
Ben joined Alwyn Richards Temporary Works Design after graduating from the University of Bradford with a BEng (Hons) in Civil & Structural Engineering in 2004. As part of the accredited course at Bradford he worked for 12 months for Keller Ground Engineering as a site engineer. Since joining Temporary Works Design Ben has also worked for Alan White Design (www.alanwhitedesign.com) in Glasgow as part of his ICE training, gaining experience in specialised aluminium design. Alan is acting as Ben's training mentor for his training towards ICE chartership.
Ivik Masek - Temporary Works Designer
Ivik is originally from Canada but has been living in the UK for over 4 years. Originally studying Electronic Engineering in Toronto he moved out of the engineering field to work for Citibank in Brisbane and GE Capital in Leeds before returning to engineering with Alwyn Richards Temporary Works Design in 2005. Ivik is currently undertaking a Batchelor of Engineering with the Open University.
Mark Brookes - Temporary Works Draughtsman
Mark gained general draughting experience working for Newton Chambers Engineering, Novenco - Aerex, and David Brown Gear Industries prior to gaining an HNC in 1988, when his extensive scaffolding related draughting experience commenced with his joining Alwyn at Richmore Engineering Services.
